Definition
The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of fundraising activities at The Children's Cabinet, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, events, foundation grants, donation drives, volunteers, and donor stewardship. The Manager supervises Donor Relations staff, ensures timely donor stewardship, and supports the execution of the agency's fundraising strategy.
This role personally manages a portfolio of individual and corporate donors, provides oversight to events and donor experiences, and collaborates across departments to ensure effective fundraising systems and practices. The Donor Relations Manager reports directly to the Director of Donor Relations, works closely with the Donor Relations team, CEO, and COO, and engages with board trustees, donors, corporate partners, foundations, volunteers, and staff.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends required for events, stewardship, and donor engagement activities.

Duties
- Work closely with the Director of Donor Relations, Donor Relations team, CEO, COO, and Board of Trustees to implement fundraising goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Operationalize the fundraising strategy by developing clear systems, processes, and timelines to ensure consistent execution across donor relations activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Donor Relations to support the development, refinement, and implementation of fundraising strategy.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate Donor Relations staff, ensuring accountability and professional growth.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal staff regarding donor relations activities, including donation drives, stewardship opportunities, volunteer engagement, and donor recognition requests.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of individual and corporate donors, cultivating relationships and securing renewals and upgrades.
- Oversee foundation grant management, including identifying prospective foundations, cultivating relationships with foundation program officers, coordinating proposal development, and ensuring timely grant reporting and compliance.
- Ensure timely and consistent donor stewardship, including thank-you letters, phone calls, recognition activities, and impact reporting.
- Provide oversight for annual fundraising events, stewardship events, holiday programming, and third-party/community fundraisers.
- Manage budgets for Donor Relations activities, including events, stewardship, and drives; monitor expenses and ensure alignment with fundraising goals.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure consistent messaging and compelling donor communications.
- Provide leadership for donation drives and volunteer engagement, ensuring they contribute to donor cultivation and stewardship.
- Oversee use of donor database (CRM) for gift processing, stewardship tracking, reporting, and data integrity; analyze donor data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Represent The Children's Cabinet publicly with donors, corporate partners, foundations, community groups, and at events.
- Represent the organization at community outreach events by attending and staffing informational tables, engaging with attendees, and sharing resources to promote our mission and programs.
- Support board and committee fundraising efforts, including The Changemakers Committee and other event committees.
- Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising practices and organizational policies.

Minimum Qualifications Needed
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong background in sales, fundraising, or business development.
- Experience with foundation grant management including cultivation, proposal writing, and reporting is a plus.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage executives, board members, donors, foundations, and volunteers.
- Budget management experience, including tracking and forecasting event and departmental expenses.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate plans into execution.
- Proficiency in donor database/CRM systems and data-driven fundraising practices.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of community-based organizations, corporate philanthropy, and foundation funding trends.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with executives, volunteers, donors, and staff.
- The ability to work well under pressure, to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and manage work under tight deadlines.
- A high level of computer competency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and mail merging.
- Experience with Canva and social media is a plus.

- Represent The Children's Cabinet confidently with donors, foundations, and community partners.
Special Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications, or related field, or equivariant experience.
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, sales, or relationship management with proven success in donor and foundation cultivation and/or business development.
- Minium of 3 years experience in supervision and management.
- Be able to pass a background check.
- Must have a reliable vehicle to get to and from work, events, and errands.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Driver's license, proof of insurance for utilizing a personal vehicle for company business, and a clean driving record.
- Must be capable of fulfilling all the physical aspects of the job including but not limited to: being able to lift and carry 50 lbs.; able to walk up and down stairs, repetitive keystroking (initiating and responding to e-mails; typing copy, etc.)
- Ability to work evenings and weekends. Some travel required; office visits and/or training.
