The Program Coordinator is an essential part of our management team, overseeing various programs within the Youth Support and Intervention Department. This role acts as the main point of contact for the Safe@Home and Positive Pathways 2 Re-Entry programs, working closely with clients, Case Managers, Specialists, and Interns. The position demands a strong background in crisis intervention, working with juvenile-involved youth, applying evidence-based practices, and strength-based case management, all while being committed to community engagement. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Program Manager.

Duties
- Achieve a working knowledge of funding source(s) and program reporting requirements.
- Under the supervision of the Program Manager/Director develop policies and procedures that align with funder requirements, incorporating best practices and current research.
- Orient new staff to the program and ensure successful completion of program training conducted by the program contractor.
- Model appropriate communication and workplace behavior for staff.
- Coordinate the referral and intake processes for the program.
- Maintain comfort and professionalism when engaging with family and juvenile courts, with the understanding there may be circumstances requiring compliance with subpoenas and participation in legal proceedings.
- Responsible for overseeing successful community re-entry for court-ordered youth placed at China Spring/ Aurora Pines Youth Camp and their families
- Work closely with Probation Officers, CS/APYC staff, and the youth's guardians to ensure effective case management and to facilitate a smooth transition back into the community.
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the programs which may include overnight travel to rural areas as needed.
- Assist staff in understanding the agency's mission, strategic focus areas, and overall goals and objectives, contributing to their success.
- Enter, update, and monitor computerized client databases(s) for the identified program.
- Assist Case Managers, Specialists, and Interns in contacting families and resolving identified concerns.
- Help facilitate discussions with parents to prepare them for their youth's return home, focusing on common challenges, expectations, and strategies for success.
- Implement and evaluate measurable outcomes for the identified program.
- Complete monthly program reports, conduct program evaluations, and submit reports to the Program Manager and funding sources as needed.
- Disseminate information about the identified program through community presentations and program materials. Perform outreach functions as needed.
- Set annual goals and objectives related to the specific job function.
- Under the supervision of the Program Manager/Director, manage line items and/or program budget to achieve objectives within budgeted amounts.
- Participate in community boards/committees to ensure the client/provider voice is included in all activities.
- Participate in truancy-related activities, assist with youth transportation when needed
- Supervise Case Managers which will include remote and offsite supervision of those staff in rural locations.
- Conduct case audits and staffing to ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Complete quarterly reports on Safe@Home numbers and provide reports to Program Manager/Director and DCFS partners as needed.
- Contribute to the success of the agency mission, strategic focus areas, and overall goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications Needed:
Knowledge of:
- Community agencies and resources, as well as an understanding of the problems facing children, youth, and families.
- Family and youth relationship issues.
- Positive parenting concepts and work/life support for families.
- Leadership skills including sound decision-making, crisis management techniques, staff motivation and be a self-motivated team player.
- Computer applications and the desire to learn new programs.
- Case management.

Ability to
- Express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Work with adults and youth of diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
- Problem solve in stressful situations
- Keep appointments punctually, be organized and demonstrate follow through.

Special Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human services or other closely related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree. Experience in areas such as middle and high school education, work force development, juvenile justice, family focused supports is required.
- At least three years of experience in case management and crisis management.
- At least two years' experience of supervisory experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Must have reliable vehicle for work.
- May be required to work some evenings and weekends.
- Will be required to travel in state and out of state for meetings, trainings or home visits
- possible overnight travel as needed
- Must be comfortable with attending court
- Be physically capable of performing all job duties including standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, having the ability to sit on the floor and get back up, and lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
- Able to pass complete background check.
- Must possess a valid Nevada's Driver's License and proof of insurance for utilizing a personal vehicle for company business
- Willing to obtain the required medical screen and immunizations such as TB test, Hepatitis, etc.

This requires critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
