Revenue Accountant

Position: Revenue Accountant

Department: Finance

Pay Rate: $53,000-$63,000 Status: Exempt

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for ensuring that invoices and requests for reimbursement meet established standards and criteria. Duties include recording and verifying transactions, collecting and analyzing financial documents for proper posting and inclusion in billing, producing reports and financial statements and checking them for accuracy, and communicating with internal and external partners.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Finance.

Duties

  • Preparing and posting grant billings according to grant requirements.
  • Preparing and posting periodic journal entries as requested or assigned.
  • Posting positive-pay and ACH payment data to the bank as requested.
  • Processing and posting deposits as requested.
  • Reconciling GL accounts as requested or assigned.
  • Posting payroll runs as requested or assigned.
  • Assisting with audits and other examinations as needed.
  • Attending and participating in department/agency staff meetings and other events as needed.
  • Responding to inquiries on a timely basis and performing duties with appropriate urgency and accuracy.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of necessary records for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Contributing to the improvement of policies and procedures within the department.
  • Proactively suggesting departmental improvements.
  • Achieving an understanding of the agency's mission, strategic focus areas, and overall goals and objectives.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum skills required:

Knowledge of:

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) relevant to non-profit accounting.
  • Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat sufficient to perform daily duties.
  • Financial accounting systems sufficient to perform regular duties.

  • Organize tasks to meet objectives efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and external customers.
  • Function in a team environment where tasks may be shared.
  • Learn software systems as needed.

Special Requirements

  • Associates degree or at least two years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including demonstrated prior experience using pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
  • Proficiency handling and updating PDFs for backup documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, handle changes or unexpected events, and maintain cordial working relationships with administrative personnel, co-workers, service providers, and clients.
  • Must possess a valid Nevada Driver's license and proof of insurance when using a personal vehicle for company business.
  • Position requires repetitive key stroking; ability to sit for long periods (2 hours +); must be able to lift and carry at least 20 pounds.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software and/or Bill.com AP interface a plus.
