Signs of Suicide (SOS) Program Specialist - Part-Time

Position: Signs of Suicide Program Specialist

Pay Rate: $22.73 - $26.25

Status: Part Time Non-Exempt 20 - 29 hours a week

Duties:
- Assist with educational training portion of SOS program.
- Assist with the implementation of the SOS program.
- Assist school district personnel in order to set up screenings and educational trainings in Washoe County Schools, as well as providing support as needed to other partners conducting the program.
- Collaborate with case managers, navigators, and therapists to provide information and referrals after youth have been screened
- Assist with the delivery of the SOS program and education in a virtual setting
- Assist with follow-up activities with youth.
- Must be knowledgeable of community resources. These resources will be shared with youth and/or their families as appropriate for each situation.
- Enters, updates and monitors information in database and tracks all youth screened.
- Arranging for counseling services and/or other agency services for youth who screen positive and are in need of additional resources
- May be required to transport families/youth.
- Achieve an understanding of agency mission, strategic focus areas and overall goals and objectives. Contribute to the success of these areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Needed

Knowledge of
- Family and youth relationship issues.
- Appropriate interactions with youth and families.
- Appropriate interactions with community partners and other community agencies.
- Case Management skills
- Community Resources

Ability to
- Keep appointments punctually, be organized and demonstrate follow through.
- Learn new ideas and skill by reading and with hands-on-training.
- Express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Problem solve in stressful situations.
- Be flexible and adapt to changes quickly.


Special Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and at least two years work experience in case management and crisis management experience. 5+ years of equivalent experiences may be substituted for the degree.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Able to pass complete background check.
- Must possess a valid Nevada's Deriver License and proof of insurance if utilizing a personal vehicle for agency business.
- Must have reliable vehicle for work and visiting sites and schools.
- Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs.
- Must be able to work as early as 7:00am.
- Requires travel throughout Washoe County and working in Washoe County schools.
- Work Hours may fluctuate throughout the year with reduced hours during the summer months
