Definition

The Subsidy Coordinator Trainer will play a crucial role in the success of our agency by ensuring all new Subsidy Specialists, R&R Specialists, and Subsidy Reimbursement staff are thoroughly trained and oriented. The Subsidy Coordinator Trainer will also develop on-going training, assist Subsidy and R&R management staff with office coverage for general employee supervision and case management duties and assist with auditing and QC reviews.

Duties

- Achieve an understanding of agency mission, strategic focus areas and overall goals and objectives. Contribute to the success of these areas

- Read, understand, and apply all agency and department policy and procedures set forth in both the Agency Handbook and CCR&R Program Manual

- Maintain a high level of understanding of the Child Care State Manual and implement it consistently while guiding assigned staff.

- Lead the training and orientation for all new Subsidy Specialists, R&R Specialists, and Subsidy Reimbursement staff.

- Train staff on data systems, case management practices, regulations for administering subsidy and R&R programs, and agency policies, procedures, and philosophy.

- Design and prepare training and instructional materials for Subsidy and R&R staff based on department feedback.

- Monitors and evaluates the development of new Subsidy and R&R specialists against the identified standards during the training process.

- Mentor specialists for a designated period post-initial training.

- Provide case management to families as needed, especially in response to overload situations faced by Subsidy and R&R Specialists.

- Assist parents with complaints about program and/or child care services, mediate as needed, and advise parents of proper procedure for resolution of grievances.

- Audit client files, manage computerized case management, and ensure overall compliance with Child Care Subsidy Program regulations and identify potential training areas through audit.

- Work with the Program Manager to ensure the needs of DWSS, Cabinet and clients are met and make recommendations regarding policy and office operations.

- Maintain clear and open communication with Welfare District Office Managers, Investigations and Recovery Unit and staff to ensure needs of Welfare Division, Cabinet and clients are met.

- Assist in the ongoing strengthening of the Cabinet's partnership with the Welfare Division.

- Establish and expand community relationships for networking, outreach, and advocacy based on identified program goals and objectives (e.g., quality, respite, tribal activities).

- Attend and participate in department and agency staff meetings and other events

- Performs other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of and Practice in Providing:

- In-depth knowledge of agency policies, procedures, and the Child Care State Manual

- Experience in training and mentoring staff.

- Strong case management skills.

- Excellent communication and mediation skills.

- Ability to design and prepare training materials.

- Strong organizational and auditing skills.

- Commitment to the agency's mission and strategic goals.

- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external partners.

Ability to

- Provide support and direction to department staff

- To address difficult clients and situations in a professional, calm manner

- Implement Welfare regulation changes in a timely manner

- Be flexible in a fast-paced environment

- Be physically capable of performing all job duties, which may require lifting up to 30 pounds

Special Requirements

Bachelor's degree in early childhood, human services or other closely-related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree.

At least three years of experience in early childhood field.

At least one year experience in training and mentoring staff

Must have reliable vehicle for work, errands, office travel for training

May be required to work some evenings and weekends.

May be required to travel in state and out of state for meetings or training.

Job requires repetitive key stroking; ability to sit for long periods (2 hours +)

Must be able to lift and carrying up to 30 pounds.

Able to pass complete background check.

Must possess a valid Nevada's Driver's License and proof of insurance for utilizing a personal vehicle for company business
