Position: Youth Workforce and Education Facilitator

Rate: $18.81 - $21.31 / hr. Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: 20-25 per week, 2:00 pm - 6:30 pm (Hours will be subject the change during all school breaks. Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer)

The Youth Workforce and Education Facilitator will assist in implementing after-school and summer bridge programming for high school students under the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) initiative. This role focuses on supporting the day-to-day delivery of structured activities designed to promote academic enrichment, career exploration, and workforce readiness.

The position will work closely with the workforce development and education team to ensure a safe, engaging environment that encourages students to build essential 21st-century skills. This position primarily implements pre-developed activities and provides direct support to students through mentoring, small group facilitation, and academic guidance.

Duties:

  • Implement after-school and summer bridge activities created by the Program Manager or Coordinator.
  • Facilitate pre-planned workshops on career exploration, job readiness, and essential skills (e.g., resume writing, interview techniques, teamwork).
  • Support hands-on project-based learning experiences, promoting collaboration and critical thinking.
  • Assist in organizing career-related experiences, including site visits, guest speakers, and job shadowing, as coordinated by leadership.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group mentoring to guide students in setting personal, academic, and career goals.
  • Monitor student engagement and participation in after-school activities and report observations to the Program Coordinator.
  • Track attendance and assist in documenting student progress for grant reporting and program evaluation.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment that encourages student participation.
  • Support family engagement by assisting in the coordination of workshops and events that encourage parent involvement.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community partners to address student needs, ensuring wraparound services are aligned with program goals.
  • Participate in professional development and training as required by the 21st CCLC program.
  • Transport students and families as necessary in a company or personal vehicle for off-site activities, following organizational guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Coordinator

Entry Level Qualifications

Knowledge of

  • 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program objectives and goals.
  • Positive youth development, social-emotional learning (SEL), and workforce readiness for high school youth.
  • Career development practices, STEM education, and academic enrichment strategies.
  • Basic facilitation techniques and youth engagement practices.

Ability To

  • Implement engaging and age-appropriate after-school and summer learning activities.
  • Follow and execute pre-developed lesson plans and activities.
  • Build positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners.
  • Support students in workforce readiness and academic pursuits.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with youth, staff, and families.
  • Adapt to changing program needs and schedules.
  • Demonstrate leadership, creativity, and a passion for working with youth.

Special Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred in education, social work, youth development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with high school students in after-school, summer, or workforce development settings.
  • Knowledge of or experience with 21st CCLC programs is highly desirable.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, clean driving record, and a valid Nevada Driver's License.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle (candidates 25 years or older are preferred for insurance purposes).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
